Hello, friends!

Idyllwild is not only a beautiful mountain paradise, our people are among the most generous you will ever meet! Fundraisers and benefit events are part of our life in this special community. And the coming weeks bring three wonderful examples of our community’s generosity!

On Saturday, Aug 10, come enjoy a concert in our brand new Butterfield Stage amphitheater. From 2-7:00 pm, “Celebrate Motown” will bring you music by Yve Evans, Greg Jones Band, the LP’s and Gayle and Company. The concert will be benefitting Idyllwild’s Art Heals. This is a group that works to make art therapy available to those with traumatic brain injury. See artheals.com for more info!

Our second annual Idyllwild Strong Benefit Festival will take place Aug 16-18. This festival was created in 2018, by local residents, in response to the Cranston Fire. While Idyllwild escaped unharmed, we did have families who lost homes and many more were challenged with the costs of evacuation, lost income and slower than usual business as the community recovered from this near disaster! This amazing event, taking place all through the village, features 100 bands ( local and national), shops, vendors, restaurants and a great auction! The money raised will continue to go toward disaster relief in our community….those impacted by last year’s fire and this year’s flood and road closures.

On Saturday, Aug 24th, we will have our Idyllwild 5K and 10K Run and Fitness Walk. Through it’s almost  4 decades, the Idyllwild Race Committee has donated more than $70,000 to our Idyllwild School’s physical education program. Race through our beautiful community, and afterward, enjoy a pancake breakfast and awards.  Bring the kids for a 1/2 mile Kid’s Run too! For both the serious competitor or the casual walker, it’s a wonderful event. See idyllwildrace.com for full details.

We hope to see you for one, two, or maybe all three of these great events! We still have a few cabins and cottages open each of these weekends. Join us for some meaningful, and enjoyable, time in our very special mountain community!
